UNIVEN APS Requirements

Enter Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy, two languages (one must be English), and three other subjects. Each subject at 40% or above scores as percentage ÷ 10 (e.g. 85% = 8.5). Life Orientation is excluded. Minimum bachelor’s APS is 26.

UNIVEN APS Calculation Method

UNIVEN uses a decimal APS scale: each subject at 40% or above scores as percentage ÷ 10 (e.g. 85% = 8.5 points).

90–100%	9.0–10.0
80–89%	8.0–8.9
70–79%	7.0–7.9
60–69%	6.0–6.9
50–59%	5.0–5.9
40–49%	4.0–4.9
30–39%	0 (excluded)
0–29%	0 (excluded)

Life Orientation is not included in the APS total
If you have more than seven subjects, only the seven highest (excluding LO) are used
Minimum 26 APS for bachelor’s degree study (does not guarantee admission)
One of your language subjects (Subject 3 or 4) must be English
