Calculate your CUT Admission Point Score easily

Use this calculator to determine your CUT Admission Point Score. All seven NSC subjects count — Life Orientation contributes a maximum of 1 point. Minimum 27 points is required for admission to CUT.

Important Information

Enter all seven NSC subjects. Your APS is the sum of CUT points (1–8 per subject) plus 1 point for Life Orientation (capped at 1 regardless of your LO %). One language must be English (50%+ recommended). Programme-specific requirements are in the CUT prospectus.

CUT APS Calculation Method

CUT uses the NSC scoring scale (2008+) across all seven subjects. Life Orientation is included with a maximum of 1 point.

How CUT calculates your APS:
  • Sum points for all seven NSC subjects (Life Orientation capped at 1 point)
  • Minimum 27 points for admission to CUT; 22–26 points may require a selection test
  • Life Orientation: at least 50% (level 4) required; higher LO marks still count as only 1 point
  • English Home Language or First Additional Language: 50%+ expected (language of teaching at CUT)
